This page explains what information I keep about you, why I do so and what your rights are. I only collect what I need, and I never sell your data.

1. Who is responsible?

Bonsai Aikoka is a trading name of my business. I am the controller of the personal data you provide via bonsai-aikoka.eu. Full company details are on the Legal information page.

2. What data do I use – and why?

When you place an order: name, address, email, phone number if given, what you bought and how you paid. I use this to process, ship and, if needed, take back your order. Legal basis: performance of the contract (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)) and my tax and accounting obligations (Art. 6(1)(c)).

Payment: Card payments, Apple Pay and Google Pay are handled by the payment provider OnPay. I never see your full card number – only that the payment was approved.

Delivery: The carrier receives your name and address and, where needed, your email or phone number so it can notify you about the parcel.

When you contact me: by email, through the contact form or the withdrawal form, I use your details to answer you and resolve the matter. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) (my legitimate interest in replying to you).

Customer account: If you create an account, I store your details so you do not have to enter them again. The account is optional, and you can have it deleted at any time.

Newsletter: Only if you have signed up yourself (consent, Art. 6(1)(a)). You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email.

When you visit the shop: The shop platform records technical data such as IP address, browser and time of access to keep the site secure and stable (Art. 6(1)(f)). Cookies that are not strictly necessary are only used with your consent – see the Cookies page.

3. Who receives your data?

• DanDomain, which runs the shop platform and hosting (processor)
• OnPay, which processes your payment
• the carrier that delivers your parcel
• my accountant and the tax authorities, where required by law

I do not myself transfer any data to countries outside the EU/EEA.

4. How long do I keep your data?

• Orders and accounting records: as long as German tax and commercial law requires, up to 10 years
• Customer account: until you ask me to delete it
• Newsletter: until you unsubscribe
• Enquiries: until the matter is closed, unless they belong to an order

5. Your rights

You have the right to access the data I hold about you and to have it corrected, erased or restricted. You can receive your data in a common format, and you can object to processing based on my legitimate interest. You can withdraw any consent at any time. Just write to contact@bonsai-aikoka.eu.

I do not use your data for automated decision-making or profiling.

6. Complaints

If you are unhappy with how I handle your data, please write to me first. You can also complain to the data protection authority in your own country – in Finland the Data Protection Ombudsman (tietosuoja.fi) – or to the authority responsible for my business:
